Steps to Follow :

W.O.F - Weight of fabric, very important for the best results.
Use only stainless steel or wooden vessels.
Heating temperature should not be beyond 70 degrees or on simmer in case of kitchen hobs.

• Measure out the fabric of the amount you want. And weigh the fabric in grams.

• Boil the fabric in water with 20gm reetha and 1 tbsp of common salt for an hour. This process is called scouring

• For another hour boil the fabric again in 15% w.o.f alum. Ex- If your fabric weighs 100gms, you would use 15gm of alum. This process in called mordanting.

• Prepare the dye bath by boiling 50-100% w.o.f madder roots or madder root powder for half an hour and sieve it twice.

• Dye the fabric for an hour or till you achieve the desired color, let it cool, wash twice with normal water & dry in shade.

You can replace madder roots with onion skins, pomegranate peels or marigold flower petals if it is hard to find the madder roots. 🧅🌼
